God says we are a new creation in Him. It says in 2 Corinthians 5:17, “if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; what is old has passed away–look, what is new has come.” We are a new creation through Christ. We have to have a relationship with God to let go of the old life and live in the new.
Romans 6:6 says, “our old self was crucified with [Christ] so that the body ruled by sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin.” In this Scripture, it states our old self dies in order for us to have a new life with Christ. We are no longer bind by sin; we are renewed by God.
“Because of God’s mercy and love, [we] have been made alive with Christ” (bible.org). In Ephesians 2:4-5, it states “because of [God’s] great love with which He loved us, even though we were dead in transgressions, made us alive together with Christ–by grace you are saved.”
We are saved because of the cross.
We are a new creation because of the cross.
We are born again because of the cross.
Let’s celebrate what God has done for us. His mercy and grace saved us from our transgressions. Jesus allowed us to be a new creation through His sacrifice. We are no longer slaves to our flesh; we are alive in Christ!
