It is so easy to say statements like:
“When it rains, it pours!”
“Trouble never comes alone!”
I try to avoid thinking or even saying those statements, because they bring negativity into your life. When storms are brewing all around you and life seems impossible, the best place to be is in Jesus’ arms seeking peace and comfort. In John 16:33, Jesus says, “In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” God says there will be trouble, but we are conquerors through Him.
The past seven months have been a struggle, and I am thankful that I have godly people in my life to encourage me and walk this journey out with me. I have dealt with disappointment, financial needs, medical issues, and spiritual warfare. The enemy has tried to destroy me with insecurities to break me and make me lose my hope in Christ. Sometimes I feel overwhelmed and exhausted. Sometimes I feel empowered and can conquer the world. My faith has not wavered during this time. I realize the struggle is real, and satan does everything in his power to tear you down. I want this journey to be a testimony for others to see that you can find strength and hope in the midst of chaos. The only way to find hope in the middle of the circumstances is to find God’s peace over your life.
I found some quotes that were encouraging:
“The real man smiles in trouble, gathers strength from distress, and grows brave by reflection.” — Thomas Paine
“Life is difficult for everyone; everyone has bad days. Everyone has trouble in their life, because it doesn’t matter how rich you are: Sickness and trouble and worry and love, these things will mess with you at every level of life.”– Domhnall Gleeson
Finally we must realize that, “storms don’t last forever.”
These are moments in our lives that can define us. How we handle the situation can build our character and strengthen our walk with the Lord. It’s a choice! Do we fight the battle of life with God on our side or do we fight alone? As long as we have God fighting the battle with us, it is a guaranteed victory. We fight with strength and endurance and never grow weary. Isaiah 40:31 says, “those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”
Life may be hard and sometimes overwhelming, but, with God, He will continue to give us the strength we need to conquer our troubles and not be defeated!
